ABOUT THE KPA
The Kambo Practitioner Alliance (KPA) is a global network dedicated to the safe and ethical use of Kambo. Founded by Lewis Powell and based in the UK, a Master Kambo Practitioner with over a decade of experience, the KPA serves as a central resource for education, connection, and support for both practitioners and those seeking the profound results of Kambo as a treatment.

Who We Are – Our Mission and Values
The Kambo Practitioner Alliance (KPA) is a UK based training organisation focused on safe, responsible, and professional Kambo practice.
Our mission is to honour the origins of Kambo while bringing it into a modern context with clear standards, proper training, and real accountability.
As Kambo becomes more widely used, the risk is not the medicine itself… it’s how it’s being practised.
Our role is simple.
To make sure this work is done properly.
Respect for Indigenous Traditions
This work does not start here.
Kambo comes from indigenous knowledge that has been carried for generations. We maintain a direct relationship with the Matsés people of the Amazon, not as an idea… but as an ongoing connection.
That includes giving back through practical support, including community projects such as school supplies.
Safety and Practitioner Excellence
Safety is the foundation of everything we teach.
We train practitioners to properly understand contraindications, screen clients responsibly, and recognise when Kambo should not be used.
It’s not just about applying the medicine.
It’s about knowing when and how to work with it.
Our training is built around clear protocols, professional standards, and ongoing support for practitioners.
Ethical Practice
This work requires honesty and responsibility.
We emphasise transparency, informed consent, and maintaining high professional standards across all aspects of practice.
No shortcuts. No exaggeration.
Just doing the work properly.
Community and Lifelong Support
Training does not end when the course finishes.
We provide ongoing mentorship and support, creating a network of practitioners who are aligned in how they work and what they stand for.
Over time, this becomes a community that continues to grow, learn, and support each other.
Sustainability and Reciprocity
Kambo should never be taken without awareness of where it comes from.
We support ethical sourcing and sustainable harvesting, alongside direct contributions to indigenous led initiatives that help preserve both the rainforest and cultural heritage.
This is not separate from the work… it is part of it.
Ongoing Learning and Development
This work continues to evolve.
We encourage practitioners to keep learning, deepen their understanding, and stay informed through both experience and emerging research.
Because doing this properly means staying open and accountable.
Service
At its core, this is about helping people.
Not fixing them or making claims… but creating the conditions where real change can happen when approached with the right level of care and responsibility.
